Painted Piste
Point to Every Run You've Skied
Then find the one you're saving for next season. Your whole mountain hangs in the mudroom. Each run is there by name, right where it comes down the hill.
Type your home hill to see its runs by name.
The Pieces
Four Ways to Hang It
The Mountain
The whole mountain the way your trail map lays it out, so you can trace a line down from the top of any chair.
The Run
The one you lap all day, big enough to follow every turn of it from the chair down.
My Runs
Tick the runs you've skied and they stand out bold beside the ones you still want to ski.
The Season
Write in your days on the hill, and read them back next summer under a small map of the mountain.
The Styles
Choose How It's Drawn

Relief
the ridges lit by a low sun from the south-east, the way the light falls on a January morning.
First Light • Noon • Alpenglow • Moonlight • Pink Alpenglow

Oblique
the mountain as you see it from the village, with the back side hidden behind the ridge.
Dawn • Day • Dusk

Trail Map
flat and bright like the map you'd spread on the lunch table, each run in the colour on its sign.
Snow • Night • Chalk • Oxblood

Survey
fine ink lines that crowd together where the pitch gets steep, so the steepest runs show before you read their names.
Ink • Ink & Wash • Blueprint • Charcoal

Contour
the bare shape of the mountain in height lines, with your runs laid across it.
Chart • Night • Chalk

Watercolour
soft washes, with every north face in a cold blue shadow.
Bluebird • Dusk • Storm • Lavender Dusk

Linocut
every run cleared through a solid forest, like a freshly cut trail.
Ink on Snow • Snow on Ink • One Ink on Snow

Gilt
every run traced in gold on a dark ground.
Black & Gold • Navy & Gold • Racing Green & Gold • Blood Red & Black
How It's Made
Read Every Run Up Close
Open any picture on this page and zoom in until you can read the name on every run.
Trail names change faster than the runs do, so a run renamed this winter can still carry its old name until a skier who knows it puts the new one on the map. Big Sky Resort publishes 4,350 ft of vertical, and its print reads 4,339 ft, 11 ft short. How it's made.
The Mountains
Look Through the Stack
There are 49 here to leaf through the way you'd leaf through a pile of trail maps. Yours prints from the studio whether or not it's among them.
